Kawano Mandarin

Kawano is a Satsuma variety of Mandarin that produces large sized, flattened fruit that are sweet and flavoursome. The fruit ripens in winter, are easy to peel with few seeds, and will hold on the tree for several weeks. This selection is fast growing and typically reaches 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Kawano is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or used in a courtyard garden.

Kawano is a Satsuma variety of Mandarin that produces large sized, flattened fruit that are sweet and flavoursome. The fruit ripens in winter, are easy to peel with few seeds, and will hold on the tree for several weeks. This selection is fast growing and typically reaches 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide. Best performance with this variety is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, and protected from heavy frost. Citrus will generally tolerate moderate frost once established. Kawano is commonly included in a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or used in a courtyard garden.
