Clematis Andromeda Details

Clematis Andromeda is a popular, deciduous climber grown for its flowers and vigorous growth. It produces large and showy, semi-double, white and rose-coloured flowers from late spring through summer. A second round of single flowers are produced on the new growth in autumn. The foliage is mid-green and provides an impressive backdrop to the flowers. This climber will easily reach 3 m but can be trimmed as necessary which often involves cutting right back during winter. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and can be grown in coastal environments. Clematis Andromeda is often grown on fences or over arches and is also great for covering a large area when used as a groundcover.
