Brazilian Jasmine, Rocktrumpet

"Red Riding Hood" is a variety of the commonly known, Brazilian Jasmine, and is an evergreen climber featuring magnificent flowers. It produces showy, red-pink flowers with a yellow centre amidst the glossy, green leaves from spring through late summer. The foliage is held off thin, wiry stems which wrap around support structures as it climbs. It typically grows to 1.5 m tall, but can easily be contained with trimming. Best performance with this plant is achieved when grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun, and protected from frost. "Red Riding Hood" makes a lovely climber and is perfect for growing over trellises and fences. It is often used in cottage and subtropical gardens, and is well suited to planting around outdoor living areas.
