Hardenbergia Happy Wanderer is a vigorous, evergreen climber grown for its pretty flowers and lush foliage. It bears masses of deep purple flowers on slender stems from late winter through spring which literally transforms the plant. Complementing the showy flowers are the lush dark green leaves which are held densely. It will easily grow to 3 m tall but is often contained with trimming as necessary. This hardy plant is tolerant of most soil conditions and climates including moderate frost though will grow best on a well-drained site in full sun. Hardenbergia Happy Wanderer is commonly grown along fences, trellises, or pergolas, or allowed to sprawl as a groundcover if it has nothing to climb. It is well suited to planting around outdoor living areas and including in cottage gardens.
