Jasminum beesianum

Beesianum Jasmine

Jasminum beesianum is a red flowering variety with perfumed fragrance as just one of the many attributes this variety delivers. It features rich, green leaves on vine-like stems. These are complemented with highly fragrant, pink flowers during summer. It is not as vigorous as some of the other Jasmine species but will still reach 3 m tall and the same wide if not contained with trimming. Jasminum beesianum is ideal for growing on a fence and looks spectacular when grown over an archway or on a trellis.

Jasminum beesianum care

Jasminum beesianum, commonly known as Pink Jasmine, is a semi-evergreen to deciduous climber prized for its tubular, deep pink flowers and twining growth habit. It thrives in full sun to partial shade, with more sun encouraging better flowering. Plant it in well-draining, fertile soil, and water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during the growing season. Once established, it becomes somewhat drought-tolerant but still benefits from consistent moisture. This jasmine flowers from late spring to early summer, and while not as strongly scented as other jasmines, it offers a subtle fragrance and attractive colour. Provide a trellis or support structure for it to climb, as it twines naturally. Prune after flowering to maintain shape, encourage bushier growth, and prevent it from becoming too leggy. Jasminum beesianum is cold-hardy down to mild frosts, making it suitable for cooler climates compared to more tropical jasmine species. Apply mulch to conserve moisture and protect roots in colder months. With its soft pink blooms and vigorous growth, it's a beautiful choice for pergolas, fences, or cottage-style gardens.
