Trachelospermum jasminoides Wilsonii is a selection of the commonly known, Star Jasmine. This is a stunning, evergreen climber that bears leathery and glossy, dark green leaves which are contrasted beautifully with white flowers in summer. The fragrant flowers are produced in clusters at the ends of stems. The foliage develops beautiful crimson tones in autumn and winter. The slender stems sprawl across the ground, providing a dense groundcover, or will intertwine and climb a trellis. It will easily reach 3 m in length and more, but these can be trimmed as necessary. Best growth with Trachelospermum jasminoides Wilsonii is achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods and mild frost though should be sheltered from wind. Star Jasmine makes a lovely groundcover but is more commonly trained on a trellis or the like.
