Vitis coignetiae, Crimson Glory Vine
Vitis coignetiae, commonly known as the Crimson Glory Vine, is an ornamental grape vine grown for its lush and colourful foliage. This deciduous and climbing plant produces decorative foliage that emerges purple in spring, ages to mid-green, and develops vibrant orange, red, and purple tones in autumn before falling. Vitis coignetiae is commonly used as a climber along a fence, trellis, or the like and should be planted so the autumn colours can be enjoyed. It is well suited to cottage and Mediterranean gardens or for transforming a bland fence.
