Also known as | Ornamental Grape Vine |
This is an ornamental grape vine grown for its lush and colourful foliage. This deciduous and climbing plant produces decorative foliage that emerges green in spring, ages to mid-green, and develops vibrant orange, red, and purple tones in autumn before falling. It will grow to 10 m tall and wide, but is usually contained to 2-3 m with trimming. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, dry periods, and some wind. This ornamental vine is commonly used as a climber along a fence, trellis, or the like and should be planted so the autumn colours can be enjoyed. It is well suited to cottage and Mediterranean gardens or for transforming a bland fence.
