Abies procera Glauca Details

Abies procera Glauca is grown for its foliage and showy cones. This evergreen conifer produces stout branches with short, thick, powdery blue, needle-like foliage which ages to dark green. The display gives the tree a two-toned display. The branches are held off a single, central trunk. In autumn it produces blue cones which turn brown with age. It typically grows to 15 m tall and 9 m wide with a pyramidal shape. Best performance with this tree is achieved when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of frost, cool climates, and periods of dry. Abies procera Glauca is an interesting conifer that is well suited to adding to a mixed planting in a large garden or growing as a specimen.
