Commonly known as the Monkey Puzzle Tree, this is a large, evergreen tree grown for its distinctive foliage. It has dark green, needle like leaves held on intertwining branches. It grows with a conical shape to about 20 m tall and 10 m wide, performing best when grown in full sun position on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of cool climates, frost, dry periods, and coastal environments. The Monkey Puzzle Tree is commonly included in mixed plantings or grown as an interesting specimen in large gardens and parks.
