Cupressus leylandii Ferndown is a fast-growing and features feathery, light green leaves which are held densely on somewhat pendulous branches. It grows with a conical shape to about 25 m tall and 7 m wide, and can easily be contained with trimming. This tree prefers a full sun position, a well-drained site, and will grow well on most soils, except extreme wet. It is tolerant of frost, extended dry periods, cool climates, wind, and coastal conditions. This green leylandii variety is used extensively on farms and larger properties as a windbreak, large screen, shelter for livestock, or for forestry.
