Picea smithiana, commonly known as the Himalayan Spruce, is a large and fast-growing conifer. This evergreen tree features soft looking, dark green foliage that appears to hang from near horizontal branches. It grows with an upright and somewhat narrow growth habit to eventually reach about 20 m tall and 8 m wide. Picea smithiana is commonly grown as a specimen in parks or large gardens but is also well suited to being planted for shelter and screening where space affords.
