Adiantum hispidulum Details

Adiantum hispidulum, commonly known as the Rough Maidenhair Fern or Rosy Maidenhair Fern, is a NZ native that features short and showy fronds. Young fronds may have pink tones before they mature to become dark green. It grows as a clump to about 50 cm tall and the same wide but will spread via its roots to colonise a larger area with time. Best results with this fern are achieved when it is positioned in light shade on a reasonably well-drained site that does not dry out, though it will tolerate heavy shade and light frost. Adiantum hispidulum is well suited to growing indoors as a potted plant. For outdoor planting it is commonly included in woodland plantings, mass planted as a groundcover in shaded areas, planted around outdoor living areas, or included in a mixed planting or border.
