Asplenium flaccidum, commonly known as Hanging Spleenwort, is a NZ native fern grown for its interesting ability to grow on other plants and from crevices. It is usually found growing from the trunks of trees and tree ferns in the bush. Its limp, dull green, hanging fronds reach up to 1 m in length. Asplenium flaccidum is commonly planted in damp rock crevices or rotting trees in shaded areas.
