Dolomite is a finely ground lime which not only acts quickly to make soils more alkaline but also provides calcium and magnesium to the soil. The calcium content is typically 23% and the magnesium is 11%. This product is typically lightly spread across the soil surface and can either be raked in or watered in. The Plant Company recommends that only small amounts are used each season; about 1 handful per two square metres to move the pH by 1 unit. It should not be used around acid-loving plants such as azaleas and rhododendrons. This product should be used in conjunction with pH test kits to be sure of how much to use. Avoid breathing in the dust and wash hands after use.
