Dianella Blutopia is grown for both its foliage and flowers. In spring it bears large spikes carrying delicate, light blue flowers which result in small, blue berries in summer. These are held neatly above the blue-green, strap-like leaves as it grows to 1.2 m tall and 1.5 m wide. Dianella Blutopia is commonly mass planted on a bank, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Blutopia Dianella

The Blutopia Dianella is a variety of the NZ Flax Lily that is grown for both its foliage and flowers. In spring it bears large spikes carrying delicate, light blue flowers. These are held neatly above the blue-green, strap-like leaves. The flowers are followed by small blue berries in summer. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and 1.5 m wide and performs best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is hardy to frost, coastal environments, dry periods, and cold climates. The Blutopia Dianella is commonly mass planted on a bank, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas. This is an easy plant to grow that is very rewarding and affords a spectacular display.
