Phormium Anna Red is a popular and colourful variety of Flax. It produces sword-like leaves that are a rich red-purple colour. It typically grows to 1.6 m tall and the same wide, with a tidy and compact habit. It performs best and produces the most intense leaf colourings when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, coastal conditions, wind, poor soils, and cool climates. Phormium Anna Red is a versatile plant makes a fantastic addition to mixed plantings, and coastal gardens. It is commonly planted around water features, pool and barbecue areas, or other living areas. It is also well suited for mass planting on a bank and in these situations provides an impressive display.
