In summer, erect, red stems up to 1.5 m tall rise above the foliage to bear an impressive display of showy, red flowers. It grows as a clump to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide. Beschorneria tubiflora is commonly added to mixed plantings, included in coastal plantings, or grown in large planters.

Beschorneria tubiflora Details

Beschorneria tubiflora is grown for its foliage and impressive flowering. The leaves on this herbaceous perennial are broad, arching, mid green, and lush in appearance. In summer, erect, red stems up to 1.5 m tall rise above the foliage to bear an impressive display of showy, red flowers. It grows as a clump to about 1.2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It will tolerate dry conditions, coastal conditions, cool climates, and light frost once established but will not tolerate prolonged wet. Beschorneria tubiflora is commonly added to mixed plantings, included in coastal plantings, or grown in large planters.
