Beschorneria yuccoides Variegata is grown for its colourful foliage and impressive flowering. The leaves on this herbaceous perennial are variegated yellow and grey-green and are flax-like in appearance. In summer, erect, pink stems up to 1.5 m tall rise above the foliage bearing tubular, pink and green flowers. It typically grows to 1.2 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun. It will tolerate dry conditions, coastal conditions, cool climates, and light frost once established but will not tolerate prolonged wet. Beschorneria yuccoides Variegata is commonly added to mixed plantings, included in coastal plantings, or grown in large planters.
