Dianella Stampede is a NZ Flax Lily that features spikes that carry delicate, blue flowers in spring. These are held neatly above the fresh-green, strap-like leaves. The flowers are followed by small blue berries in summer. It grows to 35 cm tall and the same wide in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Dianella Stampede is commonly mass planted in borders or as a groundcover, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas.

Blue Flax Lily Stampede

The Blue Flax Lily Stampede is grown for both its foliage and flowers. It features spikes that carry delicate, blue flowers in spring. These are held neatly above the fresh-green, strap-like leaves. The flowers are followed by small blue berries in summer. It will typically grow to 35 cm tall and the same wide and has storage roots that enable it to survive a wide range of environmental conditions. It grows best, however, when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is hardy to moderate frost, coastal environments, dry periods, and cool climates. The Blue Flax Lily Stampede is commonly mass planted in borders or as a groundcover, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas. This is an easy plant to grow that is very rewarding and affords a spectacular display, particularly when it is mass planted.
