Libertia Gold Finger Details

Libertia Goldfinger is a variety of the commonly known, NZ Iris or Mikoikoi, and is grown for its beautiful, white flowers and attractive foliage. The delicate looking flowers are produced through spring and summer and result in green seed capsules that mature to orange. The foliage comprises orange-yellow leaves that are erect with a gentle arch. It grows as a clump to about to 40 cm tall and the same wide but will colonise a larger area in time with its spreading roots. Best performance with the NZ Iris is achieved when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Mikoikoi are tolerant of coastal conditions, cool climates, frost, and a range of soil conditions. Libertia Goldfinger is commonly mass planted, added to a mixed or border planting, planted around the base of large trees, included in cottage and alpine gardens, or planted anywhere a hardy, yet attractive plant is required.
