Phormium Pixie is a smaller variety of Flax that features sword-like leaves coloured pink and green. This variety typically grows to 50 cm tall and 70 cm wide with a tidy and compact habit. It grows best and produces the most intense leaf colourings when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, coastal conditions, wind, poor soils, moderate shade, and cool climates. Phormium Pixie is a versatile variety of Flax that makes a fantastic addition to mixed plantings, borders, or coastal gardens, and is commonly planted around water features, pool and barbecue areas, or grown in a container. It is also well suited for mass planting on a bank and in these situations provides an impressive display.
