Phormium Red Fingers is a hardy variety of Flax grown for its colourful foliage and small stature. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and the same wide carrying narrow, sword like leaves which are two-tone red. It grows best and produces the most intense leaf colourings when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, coastal conditions, wind, poor soils, and cool climates. Phormium Red Fingers is a versatile variety that makes a fantastic addition to mixed and border plantings, and is often planted around water features, added to coastal gardens, or planted around pool and barbecue areas. It is also well suited to mass planting on a bank and in these situations provides an impressive display.
