“Legacy” is a Blueberry variety that produces good yields of small sized, firm fruit that is dark blue in colour. The fruit in summer has a sweet and tasty flavour. New foliage is blue-green but matures to mid-green. This shrub typically grows to 1.5 m tall and the same wide, but can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of cool climates, though frosts in late spring can reduce yields. For this reason, it is more commonly grown in warmer climates. “Legacy” is commonly grown for its delicious fruit and often included into a mixed planting or maintained in a container. Planting several varieties is recommended to ensure a continuous supply of fruit over a long period.
