Feijoa Dens Choice Details

Feijoa Dens Choice is an early maturing variety of Feijoa that produces medium to large sized fruit through autumn. The skin is smooth and light green in colour with flesh that is of good flavour and has a good sugar-acid balance. The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer which are set amidst the dark green leaves. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, fertile site. Sites prone to heavy frost should be avoided, particularly during establishment. It is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, and some wind. Feijoa Dens Choice is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added to a mixed planting. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties of Feijoa to extend the fruiting season and produce higher yields overall.
