“TM2” is a fantastic variety of Macadamia due to its long fruiting period and tasty nuts. The nuts ripen in autumn and are of good size with a lovely texture and flavour. It grows as an evergreen tree to about 6 m tall and 4 m wide, bearing glossy green foliage which creates a lovely backdrop to the racemes of pink flowers in summer. It is important to plant two different varieties of Macadamias close to each other for cross pollination and to ensure good yields. This variety grows best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun and protected from frost. “TM2” is commonly grown as a specimen, planted specifically for nut production, or added to a mixed planting in a large garden.
