“Mabel” is an ornamental Nectarine variety that produces medium sized fruit that are purple with white, tasty flesh. The leaves are an interesting purple-green colour through the summer months. This deciduous tree grows with an upright habit to about 3 m tall and the same wide. Nectarines grow best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. While trees are tolerant of frost and prefer temperate climates, late frosts in spring can damage the flowers and therefore the crop. This is a great fruit tree for fruit production and looks impressive when grown as a specimen or added to a mixed planting.
