“Cara Cara” is a variety of Orange that produces good yields in spring of virtually seedless fruit. The fruit are low acid with red flesh that is juicy and flavoursome. The fruit are set amidst the glossy, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 2.5 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained site. It will tolerate moderate frost as well as short periods of dry but should be protected while establishing. This variety is well suited to the home garden and is commonly grown for fruit production, added to a mixed planting, maintained in a container, grown as an informal hedge, added to a courtyard garden, planted around outdoor living areas, or grown as a specimen.
