Walnut Shannon is a variety of Walnut that is both ornamentally attractive and produces good yields of nuts from a young age. These flavoursome morsels are produced in autumn. It typically grows to 10 m tall and 7 m wide. The foliage is mid-green and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. Walnuts grow best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. They are tolerant of frost, cool climates, and dry periods. Walnut Shannon makes a lovely specimen that can be grown alone or included in a mixed planting with the added advantage of tasty nuts.
