Apple Red Gravenstein Details

The Red Gravenstein apple tree bears large fruit in late summer. The fruit are striped orange and red with flesh that is crisp and juicy, and a flavour that is sharp, yet very pleasant. It typically grows to 5 m tall and 4 m wide, though it can be trimmed as necessary. It is self-pollinating and so does not require another apple variety planted close by to produce fruit. Best results with this variety are achieved when it is grown in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of frost, though a late frost in spring can reduce yields.
