Feijoa Triumph Details

Feijoa Triumph produces medium to large sized, oval fruit with a firm skin in autumn. The fruit are juicy with a sharp flavour. For this variety to fruit well, another variety of Feijoa (e.g., Gemini) needs to be planted nearby to aid pollination for fruit to be produced. The fruit result from bright red flowers in summer which are set amidst the dark green leaves. This evergreen shrub typically grows to 3 m tall and 2 m wide but is often trimmed to smaller sizes. It performs best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, fertile site, and sites prone to heavy frost should be avoided, particularly during establishment. It is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, and some wind. Feijoa Triumph is commonly grown for fruit production, trimmed into a hedge, used for screening, or added to a mixed planting. The Plant Company recommends planting at least two varieties to provide for a longer period of fruiting and to ensure better pollination.
