Pear Belle De Jumet Details

Pear Belle De Jumet is grown for its sweet and juicy fruit which ripen in late summer. The golden fruit are held amidst the fresh, green foliage which develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. Unlike many other pear varieties this one does not need another variety planted nearby to aid pollination so it will produce fruit when planted by itself. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 3.5 m wide but can be trimmed as necessary. Best yields are achieved when it is planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site, with good soil moisture during dry periods. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost, though a late frost in spring may reduce the yield. The Belle De Jumet Pear is commonly grown for fruit production, included into a mixed planting, or grown as a specimen.
