Plum Duffs Early Jewel produces early crops of red fruit that have a yellow flesh which is juicy and flavoursome. White blossoms adorn the tree in spring and give rise to the fruit in summer. It does not require another variety planted nearby to produce fruit. This deciduous tree grows with an upright habit to about 5 m tall and 3 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of cool climates and frost, though a late frost can reduce yields. Plum Duffs Early Jewel is commonly planted for fruit production and makes for a lovely specimen.
