Acorus gramineus Details

Acorus gramineus, commonly known as Japanese Sweet Flag or Grassy Leaved Sweet Flag, is an attractive, ornamental grass that features fine, green foliage. It grows as a clump with arching foliage and typically reaches 30 cm tall and the same wide. Plants will eventually colonise a larger area as they spread via creeping roots to produce a dense ground cover. It is easily grown in full sun or partial shade conditions on a well-drained site that does not dry out. It will tolerate frosts once established and is tolerant of prolonged wet growing conditions. Acorus gramineus is commonly planted around water areas and into the water, included in borders, used in rock gardens, grown in a container, or planted anywhere a stunning grass is required. It is best planted in clusters to give a bold and dramatic display.
