Baumea teretifolia, Nut Sedge, Machaerina teretifolia
Baumea teretifolia is a vigorous, NZ native Rush that features dark green-yellow foliage. In summer, plants bear brown seed heads which adds an interesting element to this plant. It is generally found in swampy areas where its roots enable it to spread to 1.5 m wide as it grows to 1 m high. Baumea teretifolia is commonly used to revegetate wetlands but can also be used around pond edges, alongside streams, or in boggy areas.
