Cyperus involucratus, commonly known as the Umbrella Flat Sedge, is a perennial grass that grows with a graceful habit and has long, bright green leaves. It carries unusual looking heads of umbrella-like flowers through summer. It grows to about 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Cyperus involucratus is commonly planted beside pools or streams, in shallow water, added to tropical gardens, maintained in a container, planted beneath larger shrubs, or mass planted for a lovely display.

Cyperus involucratus Details

Cyperus involucratus, commonly known as the Umbrella Flat Sedge, is a perennial grass that grows with a graceful habit and has long, bright green leaves. It carries unusual looking heads of umbrella-like flowers through summer. It grows to about 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide and performs best in wetter areas and reasonably well-drained sites that do not dry out in either full sun or partial shade. Cyperus involucratus is commonly planted beside pools or streams, in shallow water, added to tropical gardens, maintained in a container, planted beneath larger shrubs, or mass planted for a lovely display.
