It grows as a large and soft looking mound to about 50 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, heavy soils, coastal conditions, and light frost. It will go dormant during winter in cool climate areas.
