Machaerina rubiginosa, commonly known as the Orange Nut Sedge, is a vigorous, NZ native rush that features slender, green foliage. It is generally found in swampy areas where its roots enable it to spread to 1.5 m wide as it grows to 1 m high. This Sedge prefers wet conditions, plenty of space, and a full sun position. It will, however, tolerate frost, cool climates, and exposed positions.
