How to grow Ophiopogon umbraticola

Ophiopogon umbraticola is a hardy, grass-like perennial that grows well in New Zealand. It prefers partial to full shade and thrives in well-drained, humus-rich soil. This plant is ideal for shady borders, woodland gardens, or as an underplanting option. Water regularly during establishment, then only during extended periods of dryness. Mulch annually to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Trim old foliage in late winter to keep the plant tidy. Its delicate, arching leaves and clumping habit make it an excellent choice for soft texture in shaded areas.
