Acaena saccaticupula Blue Haze grows as a mat of steel-blue coloured foliage made up of fern like leaves. Green flowers are produced on short stems in summer, followed by attractive mahogany-red burr-like fruits in autumn as it grows to 15 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Acaena Blue Haze is commonly used as a ground cover, grown beside a walkway, included in a rock garden, planted amongst paving stones and boulders, grown in a container, or planted at the base of larger plants.

Acaena Blue Haze Details

Acaena saccaticupula Blue Haze grows as a mat of steel-blue coloured foliage made up of fern like leaves. Green flowers are produced on short stems in summer, followed by attractive mahogany-red burr-like fruits in autumn. This is an eye-catching and attractive plant which will grow to only 15 cm tall and spread about 50 cm in two years if looked after. It will tolerate almost any soil condition and flourishes in full sun on a well-drained site. Acaena Blue Haze is commonly used as a ground cover, grown beside a walkway, included in a rock garden, planted amongst paving stones and boulders, grown in a container, or planted at the base of larger plants. This popular plant is very versatile and a great asset in the garden.
