Acaena inermis Glauca is a NZ native, herbaceous perennial often used as a groundcover. This evergreen produces fern like leaves that are green with a hint of blue, and are held on spreading stems. Ball-like clusters of pink flowers are borne on erect stems in summer and result in fruits that have spiny hooks that can attach themselves to fur or clothing. It typically grows to just 10 cm tall and 60 cm wide, preferring a fun sun position on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of coastal environments, dry periods, moderate frost, and reasonable shade.
