Acaena saccaticupula is a ground-hugging, evergreen, NZ native perennial. The fern like foliage is blue-grey, soft looking, and carried on trailing, bronze stems. It typically grows to 15 cm tall and 50 cm wide in two years when grown on a well-drained site. Acaena saccaticupula is commonly used as a ground cover, grown beside a walkway, included in a rock garden, planted amongst paving stones and boulders, maintained in a container, or planted around the base of larger plants.
