Ajuga reptans Mahogany, commonly known as Bugleweed, Common Bugle, or Carpet Bugle, forms a spreading mound of dark red-purple leaves. Spikes of blue flowers rise above the foliage from spring as it grows to 20 cm tall and 80 cm wide. Ajuga reptans Mahogany is commonly used as a groundcover, grown in a container, or used to transform a shady area. A mass planting produces a very rewarding display with this Bugleweed.

Ajuga reptans Mahogany, commonly known as Bugleweed, Common Bugle, or Carpet Bugle, is grown for its impressive foliage and flowers. This Bugle forms a spreading mound of dark red-purple leaves. Spikes of blue flowers rise above the foliage from spring through summer and bring another element to this already lovely plant. It typically grows to about 20 cm tall and will spread up to 80 cm wide. This evergreen requires a well-drained site with good summer moisture to perform. It is frost hardy, tolerant of coastal environments, and can be grown in full sun or partial shade. Ajuga reptans Mahogany is commonly used as a groundcover, grown in a container, or used to transform a shady area. A mass planting produces a very rewarding display with this Bugleweed.
