Cotoneaster horizontalis, commonly known as the Rockspray Cotoneaster, is a deciduous shrub with a ground hugging growth habit and colourful berries. The branches host small and glossy, dark green leaves which develop orange and red tones in autumn before falling. White flowers are produced in summer and are followed by red berries which last through into winter. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and spreads 1.5 m. Cotoneaster horizontalis makes an attractive groundcover and is great for borders, rock gardens, planting on a bank, or planting so it can spill over walls and steps.

Cotoneaster horizontalis, commonly known as the Rockspray Cotoneaster, is a deciduous shrub with a ground hugging growth habit and colourful berries. The branches grow with an interesting yet organised, herringbone pattern. They host small and glossy, dark green leaves which develop orange and red tones in autumn before falling. White flowers are produced in summer and are followed by red berries which last through into winter. It typically grows to 40 cm tall and spreads 1.5 m, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, frost, cold environments, wind, and coastal conditions. Cotoneaster horizontalis makes an attractive groundcover and is great for borders, rock gardens, planting on a bank, or planting so it can spill over walls and steps.
