Euonymus fortunei, commonly known as Wintercreeper or Fortunes Spindle, is a ground covering or climbing plant favoured for its lush foliage. It features dark green leaves held on stems that creep across the ground or will climb and cling to walls in the same manner as ivy if allowed. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and 3 m wide as a groundcover, or 10 m or more as a climber. Euonymus fortunei makes for a highly effective ground covering plant and suits banks or the like where quick coverage from a hardy plant is desired.

Euonymus fortunei, commonly known as Wintercreeper or Fortunes Spindle, is a ground covering or climbing plant favoured for its lush foliage. It features dark green leaves held on stems that creep across the ground. The stems will climb and cling to walls in the same manner as ivy if allowed. It typically grows to 60 cm tall and 3 m wide as a groundcover. If allowed to climb it can reach 10 m or more! In both instances it can be contained with trimming as necessary. This plant grows best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, though it will tolerate dry periods, moderate frost, coastal conditions, and cool climates. Euonymus fortunei makes for a highly effective ground covering plant and suits banks or the like where quick coverage from a hardy plant is desired. It can also be used in smaller spaces, noting that it will require regular trimming.
