Trailing Fuchsia, Fuchsia procumbens Variegata
Fuchsia procumbens variegata, commonly known as Trailing Fuchsia, is a NZ native that is often used as a trailing plant or ground cover. It has small leaves which are mottled green and white. These are held on slender stems which tend to creep across the soil and may develop roots as they contact the soil as it grows to 5 cm tall and 60 cm wide. It bears small, yellow flowers in spring which are followed by large, red berries. Fuchsia procumbens variegata makes a fantastic, soft looking groundcover that is perfect for planting around small to medium sized shrubs or for growing over rocks and tree debris.
