Grevillea Royal Mantle Details

Grevillea poorinda Royal Mantle is a fast growing, spreading shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. It produces beautiful, pendant spikes of red flowers which are held abreast of the lush foliage. The leaves are mid-green with new growth having red tones. The flowers are produced from spring through summer and are great for attracting birds. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 6 m wide, though can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, coastal conditions, and moderate frost. Grevillea Royal Mantle is commonly used as a groundcover, included in borders, used in coastal gardens, planted to attract birds, allowed to cascade over rocks, or mass planted on a bank.

Q&A (Questions and Answers)

Have a question about Grevillea Royal Mantle? We are here to help.

Hi I have a very large bank that I'd like to have these cascading down (I've had them at a previous property on a rock wall and loved it!) if I plant them along the top of the bank, how far apart sideways, and down the bank do you suggest I plant them please? Thanks. Mel.

I'd aim for 1.5-2 m apart at the top of the bank and the same spacing across the bank. Use a diagonal planting pattern so you get more consistent filling of the gaps.
