It typically grows to 1 m tall and 2.5 m wide as a somewhat dense mat. This denseness of Juniperus Gold Coast makes it an effective groundcover that will suppress most weeds. It is often planted beneath larger trees, used in borders, or planted anywhere a feeling of winter warmth is required.

Juniperus Gold Coast, commonly known as the Pfitzer Juniper, is a low growing conifer often used as a groundcover. It has fine, lacy, golden yellow foliage which is held on slender, sprawling stems. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 2.5 m wide as a somewhat dense mat. Best growth is achieved when it is planted in a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry conditions, frost, cold environments, and coastal climates but it will not tolerate wet soils. This denseness of Juniperus Gold Coast makes it an effective groundcover that will suppress most weeds. It is often planted beneath larger trees, used in borders, or planted anywhere a feeling of winter warmth is required.
