Pimelea prostrata, Riceflower, New Zealand Daphne, Pimelea prostrata For Sale, Strathmore Weed
Pimelea prostrata, commonly known as the Riceflower or NZ Daphne, is a NZ native, ground covering plant. It features small, grey-blue leaves which are held densely on prostrate stems. The foliage becomes adorned with tiny, white, fragrant flowers from spring through autumn which are followed by white berries. This evergreen typically grows to 10 cm tall and 70 cm wide. Pimelea prostrata is commonly used as a groundcover, used in rock gardens, added to coastal plantings, or planted on a bank where it can also help with protecting the soil. It looks impressive when planted so it can spill out onto a path or over a wall.
