Pratia Blue Stars Details

Pratia Blue Stars is a NZ native, herbaceous perennial commonly used as a colourful groundcover. It features small, dark green leaves which gives the plant an appearance akin to a lush, green carpet. The foliage is complemented with masses of small, china blue coloured flowers from spring until autumn. It typically grows to just 5 cm tall and will spread to 40 cm wide in 2-3 years. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods and moderate frost but should be looked after while it is establishing. It may die back during winter but will regrow when conditions warm. Pratia Blue Stars is commonly mass planted as a groundcover, planted between paving stones and the like, or grown so it can trail over a wall or from a hanging basket.
